Carmen is a passionate, free-spirited woman in contrast to the temperamental and fickle Don José. Fate, a ballerina dressed in black and a representation of Carmen’s alter ego, tells Carmen’s fortune with a deck of cards. A fight with tobacco dealers leads to Carmen’s arrest by Captain Zúñiga. In jail, she seduces Don José and convinces him to release her from jail. Carmen is subsequently caught in a love triangle between Don José and popular bullfighter Escamillo.

North Atlanta Dance Theatre presented the Don Quixote Suite, which was excerpts from the first, second and third acts. Our student company dancers performed beautifully and we were also treated to wonderfully energetic performances by our guest artists from the Louisville Ballet, Erica De La O and Kristopher Wojtera. The star of the evening was our very own Stacey Slichter’s portrayal of the star crossed vixen Carmen! Partnered by two consummate professionals Nick Hagelin as Don Jose and Norbert Nirewicz and the Toreador Escamiglio Ms. Slichter gave a world class performance!
